The Word Addiction Was NOT Ever Meant to Be Soft

The Word Addiction Was NOT Ever Meant to Be Soft

Addictions.™ exists to name those patterns honestly — digital, substances, control, validation, comfort, thought loops, relationships, work, avoidance, and more — so they can be confronted, dismantled, and replaced with what truly matters.

In This Video…

We explained why we chose to use the word "addiction" in our series. We discussed how addiction originally meant being bound or devoted, and while culture has tried to soften it with gentler terms, we believe clear language is necessary because it confronts the reality and demands a response. We emphasized that naming addiction honestly is not cruel but compassionate, as it provides the starting point for healing when paired with a clear path forward.
