View Transcript

Resources, Quotes, and Scriptures Mentioned:

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
— 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NLT
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
— James 2:26 NKJ

P(ractice) A(pply) L(ive) ‘PAL Wisdom’ Prompts:

  1. The Bible says, ‘Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.’ (Ephesians 6:11, NLT). What mental armour are you wearing today? Slow down, actually STOP, and get quiet. Start to listen and pay attention to what you are ‘wearing mentally’ right now.

    • What kinds of ‘thoughts did you think’ that affected what clothes you have on AND HOW you are behaving? Is it faith, peace, and righteousness, or fear, doubt, and anxiety?

  2. In Colossians 3:12 MSG, we’re encouraged to ‘So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline.’ Our wardrobe with our body AND our clothes affects ‘what we wear and how we behave’.

    • What are you mentally choosing to ‘wear today’ in terms of your ‘attitude and mindset’ with your body and clothes?

  3. In Romans 13:14 NLT, we’re called to ‘And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.’ and MSG, “But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. We can’t afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!” It is time to PRIORITIZE your day and night for you and your family. Start by writing down throughout the day what you spend your time on. Then, look over the list in the evening to see where your time went. You will also see how this affects your mindset.

    • How does your mindset align with this? Are you mentally choosing holiness and discipline today?
